I am a Professor in Political Science at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Previously I held postdoctoral teaching and research positions at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and pre-doctoral research positions at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (CEACS, Juan March Institute)


I have been visiting fellow at the University of Essex, the University of Michigan,  the University of Mannheim, the University of Montreal, athnd the University of Berkeley.

I am Coordinator of the Research Group “Actores y Élites Políticas” and Co-chair of the Research Network “Political Parties, Party Systems and Elections” at the Council for European Studies (CES). 


My research interests include electoral behaviour, political representation and the study of political elites. My most recent research on these topics appears in peer-reviewed journals such as Acta Politica, American Behavioral Scientist, Parliamentary Affairs,  South European Society and Politics and  West European Politics, among others.
