I am a Professor in Political Science and Vice-Dean of Research of the Faculty of Law, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.


Previously I held postdoctoral teaching and research positions at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and pre-doctoral research positions at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (CEACS, Juan March Institute)


I have been visiting fellow at the University of Essex, the University of Michigan, the University of Montreal, and the University of Berkeley.

I am the principal investigator of the project “¿Ayuntamientos plurales? La representación política de los inmigrantes en España” on the political representation of immigrants in Spain, financed by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. www.candidatoslocales.es


My research interests include electoral behaviour, political representation and the study of political elites. My most recent research on these topics appears in peer-reviewed journals such as Acta Politica, American Behavioral Scientist, Parliamentary Affairs,  South European Society and Politics and  West European Politics, among others.
